Our vision is  to provide our community with a new 14,400 square foot facility which will house not only the Mountain Chalet Cafe - with increased seating capacity and a state-of -the-art kitchen - but also a banquet area with a catering kitchen.  We have had inquiries about rental for wedding receptions, family reunions and fundraisers such as dances or conferences.  This set-up will also be invaluable as our community entertains dignitaries and tour groups throughout the year. The conference room- featuring a mini-kitchen and internet access-provides a great setting for meetings.  Mountain's central location is ideal for cooperative meetings representing the surrounding region!  Counselors have shown interest in using the facility to accommodate their professional services. The Mountain-Thingvalla Fire Protection District and Mountain Quick Response Control Center provides storage and training space for these community services.  The Mountain Fire Department will now be able to house all their vehicles and equipment under one roof, allowing them to respond more quickly to emergencies throughout the region. Leased space will be available for businesses.  Offices for the City of Mountain, Pembina Hills Lutheran Church, and the Icelandic Communities Association will provide valuable storage for records, documents and books in an efficient climate-controlled space.
